Carina is from Casnovia, Michigan. She earned an Associate in Science and Arts degree from Muskegon Community College and a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Science from Grand Valley State University with a minor in Spanish. She has volunteered with Harbor Hospice since 2013 and prior to beginning her medical school journey she worked as a certified nursing assistant both in addiction rehabilitation and inpatient hospital care. Carina helps her husband, Nick, to run their business (Du Barry Tents) during the summers and her hobbies include book club, painting, and spending time with friends and family..
Quynh is from Dearborn, Michigan. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. She worked as an interpreter for Vietnamese patients in various medical settings and as a medical school tutor. She has volunteered as a food packager and deliverer with Meals on Wheels. Quynh loves reading, trying out new cuisines, and traveling.
Kang Yi grew up in Southern California. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Cognitive Neuroscience from UC San Diego. He has a strong interest in working with the underserved community. His previous experiences include working on a "Food Prescription Project" at the UC San Diego Student Run Free Clinic and also interning at a Federally Qualified Health Center. In his free time, Kang Yi enjoys volunteering around the community, tutoring, traveling, strength training, and spending time with family and friends.
Danielle is from Ontario, Canada. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from the University of Waterloo with a double minor in Nutritional Science and Gerontology. She works as a medical student tutor and is a volunteer at the Humane Society where she fosters dogs. In her free time, Danielle enjoys being outdoors and reading.
Sejal from Clarkston, Michigan. She attended the University of Michigan for undergraduate degree where she majored in Evolutionary Anthropology. She loves working with kids and connecting with her community. At MSU-CHM, she served as the Vice President of the Pediatrics Interest Group and currently mentors high school students in Detroit. She is interested in pursuing a career in pediatrics and hopes to gain experiences across all medical fields to improve her future clinical practice. In her free time, Sejal enjoys exercising, spending time with friends and family, and trying out local restaurants.
Meagan is originally from Haiphong, Vietnam, but she then moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan with her family. She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from Calvin University. During her studies, she volunteered at the Refugee Education Center as a tutor and a lead teacher. She also finished her service year with AmeriCorps as a medical interpreter and an outreach and enrollment specialist for underserved and non-English speaking population. Meagan volunteered with Mid-Michigan District Health Department at their COVID-19 vaccination sites. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
Logan is from Rutherford, Tennessee. He received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Tennessee at Martin. He is passionate about helping the medical underserved and preventative medicine. In his free time, Logan enjoys exercising, playing basketball, hiking with his family, and spending time outdoors.
Lane is from Frankenmuth, Michigan. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences from Central Michigan University. She is part of the Rural Community Health Program at MSU-CHM. Prior to medical school, Lane worked as a medical scribe for MyMichigan Health in Midland, Alma, Mt. Pleasant, and Clare. She enjoys volunteering at her church and for autism advocacy programs. She also enjoys research and is currently studying genetic associations in autism. Lane is interested in the specialty of pediatric medical genetics and hopes to bring this specialty to a rural setting. In her free time, she enjoys reading, practicing German, being outdoors, and spending time with family and friends.
Aiden is from Grand Ledge, Michigan. He received his bachelor degree in Bio-medical Sciences from Central Michigan University. He enjoys working out, playing video games, and eating. Aiden plans on returning to Grand Ledge after Residency to practice medicine, and hopes to open his own practice further down the road. .
