Cassidy Bachman

Cassidy is from Bay City, Michigan. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in cell biology, molecular biology, and biomedical sciences from Saginaw Valley State University. During that time, she worked as a medical scribe in the Emergency Department at Covenant HealthCare in Saginaw, MI where she found her interest in emergency medicine. At MSU-CHM she is involved in leadership and service with Spartan Street Medicine, which is an organization that provides medical care to the underserved and unhoused population of Lansing, MI. Alongside medical school she enjoys traveling, watching sports, and spending time with family and friends.

Molly Coon

Molly is from Fowlerville, Michigan. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Hope College. While there, she volunteered at an after-school program for underserved children and at the Holland Free Health Clinic. Before medical school, Molly worked as a scribe for several years. At MSU-CHM, she served on the board the Family Medicine Interest Group and was involved in the Leadership in Rural Medicine program. She also volunteered with Spartan Street Medicine, which provides medical care to people experiencing homelessness in Lansing, Michigan. She is interested in pursuing Family Medicine in rural areas. In her free time, Molly enjoys spending time with her husband, reading, and knitting.

Sarah Drockton

Sarah (Sadie) is from Sault Sainte Marie, MI. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Public Health from Lake Superior State University. Prior to medical school, she worked as a nanny and a dance instructor. Sadie is passionate about increasing women’s and children’s access to care in rural and underserved communities. While in medical school, Sadie is on a research team exploring rural maternity healthcare deserts in Michigan. Sadie’s specialty interests include Family Medicine, Pediatrics, and OB-Gyn. In her free time, she enjoys community outreach that helps connect community members and healthcare professionals. She also likes cooking, reading, and spending time with her niece and nephew.

Andy Kruskamp

My name is Andy Kruskamp. Interested in Anesthesia, Allergy, and Psychiatry. Hobbies include hunting pythons in the Everglades, riding dirt bikes, playing pickleball, reading on origin of life chemistry, occasionally watching boxing, and listening to Pink Floyd, Pearl Jam, Crosby Stills and Nash, and the Eagles.

Emily Lezotte

Emily is from West Branch, Michigan. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, and Biomedical Sciences from Saginaw Valley State University. Prior to medical school, she worked as an ER scribe in her hometown. At MSU-CHM, she is part of the Leadership in Rural Medicine certificate program and was president of Hometown healers, an interest group that mentors young people from rural communities who have an interest in medicine. She enjoys volunteering with the Kids Food Basket and Reach Out To Youth. In her free time, Emily enjoys reading, swimming, and spending time with her family.

Skyler Steward

I am Skyler Steward, and I am from Auburn, Michigan. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Saginaw Valley State University. Prior to medical school, I worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Plainview Assisted Living in Auburn. I also volunteered at Toni and Trish Hospice Center for 4 years prior to medical school. At MSU-CHM, I am part of the Leadership in Rural Medicine certificate program. I also served as President of the Family Medicine Interest Group as well as Vice President for both the Rural Health Interest Group and PsychSIGN. In my free time, I enjoy golfing, pilates, and spending as much time as I can with the ones I love.

Chase Wahl

Chase is from Midland, Michigan. He earned his B.S. in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, and Biomedical Sciences from Saginaw Valley State University. Prior to medical school, he worked as a medical scribe in the Emergency Department at MyMichigan Medical Center Midland. He is part of the Leadership in Rural Medicine certificate program and is currently interested in orthopedics, with involvement a handful of research projects. In his free time, Chase enjoys camping, hiking, and spending time with his wife, Alexandria, and their Goldendoodle, Calcium.

Caitlin Wanic

Caitlin is from Bay Mills, Michigan. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Native American Studies and Studio Art from Dartmouth College. While there, Caitlin sang in an acapella group and was a member of Native Americans at Dartmouth. Upon graduation, she completed a post-baccalaureate program at University of Michigan-Ann Arbor to fulfill her premedical course requirements. In medical school, she was involved with the Association of Native American Medical Students (ANAMS) and is currently serving as a member-at-large for the national board. Her specialty interest is emergency medicine, and she is passionate about addiction medicine and lessening health disparities in tribal communities. In Caitlin's free time, she creates traditional Ojibwe crafts (beadwork, porcupine quillwork, and leatherwork), does graphic design, and enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and her two chihuahuas (Amelia and Charlotte).

Stacy Whipple

Stacy is from Ada, Michigan. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Bennington College in Vermont in 2009 where she studied Biology, Animal Behavior, and Literature. Prior to medical school, she worked for many years as an animal behavior specialist and handler at Riddle's Elephant and Wildlife Sanctuary in Arkansas. She later owned and operated a motorcycle repair facility in Texas, then went on to manage Harley-Davidson service departments throughout the Midwest. During the pandemic she became a clinical lab technologist and emergency department technician, which led her to apply to medical school. During her time at MSU CHM, Stacy most notably served as Chief Coordinator for Spartan Street Medicine and will continue her involvement as an advisor. Through MSU she is also a student mentor, peer advisor, and group fitness instructor. In her spare time, she enjoys working with animals and exploring new fitness opportunities.
