Guests Gather to Celebrate Sault 100-Year Anniversary

Employees, volunteers, providers and community members recognized the 100-year anniversary of MyMichigan Medical Center Sault in February for a special celebration. “For the last century we have had the privilege to provide care and support to the local community. We have much to be proud of and to celebrate,” said Kevin Kalchik, M.H.A., C.P.A., president of MyMichigan Medical Center Sault. “We look forward to bringing our community, employees, volunteers and providers together to honor the history of our community hospital and celebrate and share the stories of the lives we have touched.” Learn more about the Sault.
Mid-Point Emergent PCI and Regional STEMI Alert Program Goal Met

The Cardiology Department at MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena executed our purpose of ‘Creating Healthy Communities – Together.’ In the spring of 2024 they exceeded the mid-point completion goal of 18 percutaneous coronary interventions (PCIs) since launching the Emergent PCI and Regional STEMI Alert Program in October 2023. MyMichigan Nursing Receives Accreditation
MyMichigan Health achieved American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Nursing Continuing Professional Development (NCPD) accreditation. This is a big achievement for the organization as it allows us to provide continuing nursing education (CNE) for professional development opportunities that meet the ANCC’s educational design process. According to the American Nurses Association website, MyMichigan is one of two health care organizations in the state of Michigan that is accredited.
Groundbreaking Event in Clare

MyMichigan Medical Center Clare officially broke ground on the 51,000 square-foot expansion and revitalization project at a summer ceremony at the Medical Center. MyMichigan Health leadership, board members, employees and community members joined in the celebration. The expansion will include a brand-new Emergency Department and new private inpatient rooms. It's Official! Ascension has Joined the MyMichigan Family
MyMichigan Health successfully completed the purchase of Ascension Michigan’s locations in Saginaw, Tawas and Standish. “We’re honored to be caring for the communities that Ascension Michigan’s Northern Region has so passionately served for many, many years,” said Lydia Watson, M.D., president and CEO, MyMichigan Health. “Their employees, providers and volunteers are compassionate, skilled and respected. Patients Give Medical Centers 5-Star Ratings

Patients gave high scores to Medical Centers Alma, Alpena, Clare, Standish, Sault, Tawas and West Branch based on the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey. Medical Centers received CMS 5-Star Ratings for patient experience in a variety of categories. The survey was completed between October 2022 and September 2023. For the third straight year, MyMichigan Health was named to Forbes Magazine “America’s Best Employers By State” list. “It’s an honor to be included among America’s best, and we are committed to continue fostering a workplace where people feel valued, engaged and inspired to serve others,” said Lydia Watson, M.D., president and CEO. MyMichigan Medical Center Saginaw has treated its first patient with Pluvicto®, a cutting-edge therapy for advanced prostate cancer. Alma Advanced Surgical Services Project Complete

Constructions on the final phase of the 51,200 square-foot surgical suite renovation and expansion project wrapped up in December at MyMichigan Medical Center Alma. The final phase included renovations to create 18 private pre-operative and recovery rooms, a seven-bed Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) with advanced monitoring systems, and a day surgery area. The surgical suites and pre and post-operative areas were made possible through generous donations to the MyMichigan Health Foundation which raised $1.2 million of the $26 million for the project.
