MyMichigan Medical Center Alma has been continually advancing health care capabilities for central Michigan residents by attracting some of the best and brightest minds in medicine, renovating infrastructure and patient care areas, and acquiring the latest technology to ensure that advanced treatments and procedures are available close to home.
Construction of the 51,200 square-foot surgical suite renovation and expansion project is complete at MyMichigan Medical Center Alma.
Project Highlights
Construction of the state of the art surgery suite is complete at MyMichigan Medical Center Alma. Check out the modern features and design that help improve patient care and surgery results.
Surgical Suite Enhancements
- Four new operating rooms that are larger than traditional operating rooms to accommodate the latest innovative technology.
- The rooms feature:
- Ceiling-mounted booms which replaced the traditional floor-based model, offering even greater positioning with ultra-efficient LED lights.
-
- Upgraded video monitors provide a view of the operating table and show surgical images, X-rays and patient vital signs.
- In addition, the rooms are equipped to add remote collaboration, consulting and teaching.
- Da Vinci Robotic Surgical Platform
- A new Sterile Processing Department which places staff within close proximity to the operating rooms allowing for a more efficient workflow. The primary functions of the Sterile Processing Department are decontamination, assembly and sterile processing, sterile storage, and distribution of items used during surgery.

Any after hour services can be accessed through the Emergency Department.
