Project Goals:

  • Emergency Department Expansion: Upgraded from seven semi-private rooms to 14 private rooms, including areas for trauma, infection control and behavioral health. These improvements will allow for safer and more comfortable care, providing the ability to focus on each patient’s needs.
  • Enhanced Inpatient Care: New 16-bed Inpatient Unit on the second floor is designed with comfort and privacy for patients and caregivers.  Depending on the need, there will be six flex rooms that can be used for patients in the Emergency Department, Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) or Observation Unit.
  • Expanded Imaging Services: While the Medical Center already offers lab, X-ray, and CT imaging 24- hours a day, this expansion will add a fixed MRI and allow our community members to receive additional care outside normal business hours.
  • Easier Wayfinding: A medical facility is stressful enough without the fear of getting lost when finding your way to an appointment or provider. A wayfinding redesign will offer clear directions and easy paths, ensuring safety and security for both patients and visitors.

Beyond Boundaries: Empowering Clare's Health Care Journey

MyMichigan Medical Center Clare has offered hope and wellness in the community for decades. As the largest employer in the county, the Medical Center directly contributes to the local economy and benefits many families. The framework that has served as a place of care and a place of work must improve with us. To better serve the growing needs of our patients and enhance the quality of care we deliver, we are thrilled to bring this exciting expansion project to the Clare community.

To ensure we are well-equipped for the ongoing needs of those we serve, MyMichigan Health Foundation is seeking philanthropic support to complete a 51,000 square-foot renovation and expansion project at MyMichigan Medical Center Clare.

This multi-year project includes two phases:

  • Phase one will focus on a new Emergency Department, a new Inpatient Unit and an expanded Imaging Department, as well as an expansion of the North Parking Lot to accommodate more patients and visitors. Construction for phase one is expected to begin by 2025.
  • Phase two focuses on renovations, including a welcoming main entrance, updates to the current patient tower’s windows and panels, new dining areas and improvements to the outside plaza, connecting the campus to the downtown community and the beloved Shamrock Patch Gift Shop.
