Field Neurosciences Institute
Founded in 1988 through a generous gift from neurosurgeon E. Malcolm Field, M.D., and his brothers, the Field Neurosciences Institute is a charitable, not-for-profit organization. Field Neurosciences Institute is dedicated to the prevention, early diagnosis, care, and cure of neurological diseases, disorders, and injuries.
Our Founder
E. Malcolm Field, M.D., a nationally renowned neurosurgeon, has significantly advanced neurological care. With degrees from the University of Michigan and honorary doctorates from Saginaw Valley State University and Spring Arbor University, Dr. Field performed nearly 60,000 surgeries and treated more than 315,000 patients.
Dr. Field’s vision transformed MyMichigan Medical Center Saginaw into a top neurological care center. Under his guidance, the center pioneered Neuro Intensive Care, introduced advanced diagnostic tools like MRI and CT imaging, and established Field Neurosciences Institute to focus on compassionate care, cutting-edge technology, and innovative research.
