Mike Erickson has been named regional president of MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena, replacing Chuck Sherwin, FACHE, who has transitioned to the president of MyMichigan Medical Center Midland.

“Mike has been in the health system for many years and his background, talent and experience are an excellent match for all of the opportunities ahead of us in the northern region. He possesses the right leadership skills to continue the growth and excellence in patient care that the community expects,” said Bryan Cross, PharmD, FACHE, chief operating officer for MyMichigan Health.

Erickson began his career with MyMichigan Health in 2008 serving as the system vice president support services. He then transitioned in 2021 to system vice president professional services where he was accountable for oversight, vision and leading the strategic direction for professional services across the health system.

Erickson holds a master’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in technology management, both from the University of Maryland.  He also earned a bachelor’s degree in management studies from the same university. He has been certified in facilities management.  Being involved in community is very important to Mike and he is active on many boards and councils.

“I look forward to becoming a part of the community,” said Erickson “I am honored to be a part of continuing the commitment of high clinical quality and excellent patient care for the northern region.  Together we will continue to grow and achieve our goals.”

Erickson and his wife, Annmarie will soon move to Alpena. They have four children.
