Breast Surgeon Welcoming New Patients in West Branch

Breast Surgeon Christopher Garces, M.D., is welcoming new patients at the MyMichigan General & Breast Surgery office and will be performing surgeries in West Branch. As a breast surgeon, Dr. Garces devotes his practice to the care of breast patients which includes cancer and non-cancer breast problems. He is specially trained in the latest surgical and non-surgical treatment for benign and malignant breast diseases. He also treats malignant melanoma.

Dr. Garces is a board certified general surgeon specializing in breast surgery. He received his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, completed a general surgery residency at Shands Hospital at University of Florida, as well as a fellowship in research breast oncology surgery at the University of Florida.

After watching his father pass away from an abdominal sarcoma when he was 17, Dr. Garces knew he wanted to become a surgeon specializing in cancer treatment. “I knew I wanted to make a difference for other cancer patients,” said Dr. Garces.

“It is important to me that my patients are involved in their care planning,” adds Dr. Garces. “I take the time to educate them on their disease process and make sure they are aware of their treatment options. I will provide compassionate care and assure them that they are receiving a customized plan that meets their needs.”

Dr. Garces encourages women to make sure they have an advocate, educator and partner in making decisions about their health. Every step of the way, he will provide his patients with all the latest literature and technology, so they know they are receiving the most advanced care possible.
