Carlee Collison and Lydee Salisbury have been awarded the MyMichigan Medical Center Clare Volunteers Scholarship under the stewardship of the MyMichigan Health Foundation. Each recipient received a $500 scholarship towards their education at Mid Michigan College. The MyMichigan Medical Center Clare Volunteer Scholarship originated from the desire to encourage students to pursue educational paths in health care, clinical or non-clinical, while upholding the volunteer’s philosophy of helping others.

Collison, a 2022 graduate of Gladwin High School and current Mid Michigan College nursing student, continues a family legacy of health care service as the chief medical scribe at Medical Center Clare and Medical Center Gladwin. Collison is not only ambitious in her profession but also actively participates in her community. Fueled by passion and professional aspirations, she is determined to advance her education as a registered nurse (RN) to support women and children through their significant life moments.

Salisbury, a 2025 graduate of Beal City High School, is set to pursue a degree in nursing at Mid Michigan College this fall, demonstrating a dedication to health care influenced by her own educational journey and a family legacy in the field. She works part-time while excelling in academics and extracurricular activities. Inspired by her own experience in the Nurse Aide Program through Gratiot Isabella Technical Center in Mt. Pleasant, Salisbury is scheduled to take her state nurse aid certification later this year. She is passionate about service to others and through nursing she can serve others in a healthy way.
