Family Physicians Raghuram (Raghu) and Bhramaramba (Bhrama) Sarvepalli, M.D.s, have been serving the Saginaw community for more than 30 years. Originally trained in orthopedics and obstetrics and gynecology respectively, they have enjoyed practicing family medicine and offering comprehensive care to generations of families. It was difficult for them to make the decision to retire, but they feel confident about the future of care in the community they call home.

Drs. Sarvepalli will officially retire from MyMichigan Family Medicine (formerly Heritage Family Physicians) on June 30, 2025. Both physicians have been recipients of the Spirit of St. Vincent Award from St. Mary’s of Michigan Foundation at the annual Cornette Ball; Raghu in 2018, and Bhrama in 2014. The awards were presented for providing long and noteworthy service to the Great Lakes Bay community. While patients may be sorry to see them go, these caring doctors want to assure the community they will continue to be well cared for, and the practice they worked so hard to shape will be in good hands.

“Facility improvements, connections to additional services and specialists along with MyMichigan’s recruiting efforts in our area make Saginaw stronger,” said Dr. Raghu.

Medicine has become more holistic since the Sarvepallis began practicing. For example, having nurse practitioners and social workers on the team improves access and collaboration. This can lead to better quality of life for patients and families. There’s also more of a focus on preventive care plans.

“MyMichigan Health is well positioned to take what we have done even farther,” said Dr. Raghu. “Brhama, myself and our colleagues have been committed to comprehensive care of families and supporting a well-rounded care model. I am confident MyMichigan will continue that tradition and will serve our community well.”

The Sarvepallis intend to stay in Saginaw and engaged with the community, at least during the warmer months. Bhrama is excited about spending more time nature watching, reading and traveling. Raghu looks forward to having more time for his charitable work and of course playing golf! After years of creating healthier families, they step back with grateful hearts for all the opportunities they have had to serve the Saginaw and surrounding communities.
