Local School Holds Toy Drive, Makes Donation to Medical Center ER

Holy Family School recently held a toy drive to comfort children that come to the MyMichigan Medical Center Tawas Emergency Room. “Often, when children arrive at the Emergency Room, they are hurt, or not feeling well. A toy or blanket is very comforting for them,” said Amy Groff, R.N., Emergency Room nurse manager. The school held the contest for three days to see which classroom collected the most items. The fifth/sixth class won with 856 items. They will receive a t-shirt and pizza party. The total number of items collected was 3,228.
