MyMichigan Health Foundation received a generous gift of $2,445 from Centre Lodge #273, Midland’s Masonic Lodge. The contribution will support the Diabetes Blood Glucose Strip Fund program, which, in the past year, assisted 58 individuals lacking insurance and financial resources to adequately manage their diabetes.
“For many patients and their families, especially those without insurance, the daily expense of living with diabetes can be overwhelming,” said Erin White, R.N., manager of the Diabetes Center at MyMichigan Medical Center Midland. “We are extremely grateful for the support by Centre Lodge #273, Midland’s Masonic Lodge.”
Centre Lodge has, for many years, provided financial support to the Medical Center’s Diabetes Center. The money is raised through an annual benefit spaghetti dinner. In addition, the Michigan Masonic Charitable Foundation matches some of the money raised.
Donations to the Diabetes Blood Glucose Strip Fund are accepted year-round through the MyMichigan Health Foundation at www.mymichigan.org/foundation.
