MyMichigan Medical Center Tawas Welcomes New Provider to Wound Care

Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner Thomas Kane, F.N.P.-C., W.C.C., specializes in wound care management and treatment and is welcoming new patients at the Wound Care Center at MyMichigan Medical Center Tawas, 200 Hemlock Road.
Kane provides full body care and treatment of chronic and non-healing wounds. He is highly experienced in wound care treatments including debridement, advanced wound healing dressings and hyperbaric oxygen therapy. He works in partnership with the multidisciplinary staff to assess patients’ symptoms, determine underlying conditions that may affect wound care, and create an individualized treatment plan to stimulate healing. With Kane’s expertise as a full body provider, the wound care center can treat a variety of wounds including:
- Diabetic foot ulcers
- Venous ulcers
- Pressure injuries/ulcers
- Non-healing, post-surgical wounds
- Traumatic wounds
- Arterial/ischemic ulcers
- Compromised skin grafts and flaps
- Any wound that is not healing or is of concern, such as wounds associated with radiation, bone infection (osteomyelitis) or crush injuries.

The Wound Care Center at MyMichigan Medical Center Tawas provides an approach to wound care that is comprehensive, coordinating traditional and advanced therapies that aid and accelerate the healing process. The team includes physicians, nurses and technicians with advanced training in wound care.
