MyMichigan Health Offers Tuition Assistance to Nursing Students
MyMichigan Health has partnered with Saginaw Valley State University, Delta College and Davenport University to offer tuition assistance to students in the higher education nursing program.
“At MyMichigan Health, we believe that investing in our future caregivers is a gift to the community,” says Abby Herriman, nurse manager, MyMichigan Medical Center Saginaw. “That's why we’ve teamed up with local universities to provide tuition assistance for nursing students. Together, we're nurturing the next generation of compassionate health care heroes.”
Nursing students are now eligible for tuition support with a two-year commitment to MyMichigan Health after graduation. While students are enrolled in the program, they will be required to work an average of eight hours per week at MyMichigan Medical Center Saginaw. Students will be employed as patient care technician (PCT), offering valuable hands-on experience in a health care setting. MyMichigan will schedule PCT shifts around students’ clinical and school schedules.
Upon completing the nursing program and passing state licensing exams, students will be offered a full-time position as a registered nurse. In addition to the tuition reimbursement, students will be paid an hourly wage for working at the Medical Center in Saginaw during their degree program.
