Joseph VanderVeen, D.O., Joins MyMichigan Internal Medicine in Tawas

Joseph VanderVeen, D.O.

Joseph VanderVeen, D.O., board-certified in internal medicine, is seeing adult patients for primary care. He has recently joined the team at MyMichigan Internal Medicine, 295 Maple Street in Tawas, Michigan.

Dr. VanderVeen has more than 30 years of clinical experience in the Tawas area, with a special emphasis on cardiopulmonary conditions, wellness, prevention and disease management.

“My philosophy is to focus on the long-term health and wellness of the person I am treating, in a manner that is professional and compassionate,” he said. “I think that general internal medicine is the application of an academic specialized medical focus on a broad range of adult afflictions.”

Dr. VanderVeen earned his medical degree at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in East Lansing and completed a residency in Internal Medicine through Michigan State University’s Metropolitan Hospital in Grand Rapids. He is a fellow in the American College of Osteopathic Internists.

In his free time, he enjoys football, travel, family time and playing with his grandkids.
