MyMichigan Medical Center West Branch Welcomes 500th Baby
The 500th baby born at MyMichigan Medical Center West Branch arrived on New Year’s Eve. Aurora Jean was delivered by Obstetrician/Gynecologist Thomas Minnec, M.D., to Alexis Madigan and Jason Wood. Pictured is dad, son Jason, Baby Aurora and mom.
The Maternity Unit at MyMichigan Medical Center West Branch celebrated its 500th birth on December 31, 2024. Baby girl Aurora Jean was born on the last day of the year at 10:43 p.m., weighing 5 pounds 12 ounces, and 19 inches long. Proud parents are Alexis Madigan and Jason Moore of Standish. Aurora is the couple’s second child, joining brother Jason in the family of four.
“We are very excited that our 500th baby was born on New Year’s Eve,” said Obstetrician/Gynecologist Thomas Minnec, M.D. “I’ve delivered many babies during my career, including some New Year’s babies. But, delivering this baby girl was extra special with the hospital receiving recognition as the 500th baby born at MyMichigan Medical Center West Branch.”
In 2021, the Maternity Unit at MyMichigan Medical Center West Branch received more than $2 million of improvements and equipment purchases, creating a comfortable, state-of the-art, family-focused place for women to give birth. The unit offers four labor, delivery, recovery, post-partum (LDRP) suites; three private care rooms; a highly equipped cesarean-section delivery suite; upgraded nursery, and an advanced security system for mom and baby.
