MyMichigan Health Foundation received a generous gift of $2,447 from Centre Lodge #273, Midland’s Masonic Lodge, to support the Diabetes Blood Glucose Strip Fund program. This contribution will help individuals who lack insurance coverage and financial resources obtain the supplies needed to effectively manage their diabetes.
“Managing diabetes requires a daily commitment, and access to testing supplies is essential for maintaining good health,” said Tom Wood, M.B.A., B.S.N., R.N., vice president and chief administrative officer, MyMichigan Medical Center Midland.
“Thanks to the generosity of Centre Lodge #273 and its supporters, patients facing financial hardship can receive the blood glucose test strips they need to monitor their condition and avoid serious complications. We are deeply grateful for their continued partnership and commitment to improving the health of our community.” said Denise O’Keefe, executive director, MyMichigan Health Foundation.
Centre Lodge has provided financial support to the Diabetes Center for many years. Funds are raised through the organization’s annual benefit spaghetti dinner, with additional support provided through matching funds from the Michigan Masonic Charitable Foundation.
Donations to the Diabetes Blood Glucose Strip Fund are accepted year-round through the MyMichigan Health Foundation at www.mymichigan.org/foundation.
