Preparations are in high gear for the 2026 MyMichigan Medical Center Gladwin Bra-La-La event. More the 30 area businesses and individuals have decorated one-of-a-kind bras that will be auctioned during the event Thursday, Oct. 8 at Riverwalk Place, located at 777 W. Cedar Ave., in Gladwin.
“We are excited to feature a beautiful bra created by Cynthia Miller, a member of Sugar Springs Stitchers, as well as a fun sports-themed bra created by Jaye Smith of Gladwin,” said Kelsey Killinger, director, MyMichigan Health Foundation. “Our community members and businesses have once again shown their creativity and generosity. Each unique bra helps support breast health services in the Gladwin community.”
The evening begins at 5:30 p.m. and includes information about MyMichigan Health’s breast health program and remarks from guest speaker Drenda Hukill, nurse practitioner, breast cancer survivor and Gladwin resident. The program will be followed by silent live auction and the live auction, during which the bras will be modeled by local male Medical Center leaders, volunteers and area business owners.
“This popular community event is a fun night out but more importantly helps ensure that breast health services are accessible to those who need them in Gladwin County,” said Killinger. “The cost of testing and treatment can create additional hardships for individuals and families already facing the uncertainty of a potential breast cancer diagnosis. Funds raised through Bra-La-La helps provide access to breast health screening services for patients who may otherwise be unable to afford them.”
Tickets for Bra-La-La are $50 per person and includes admission to the event, two drink tickets and a variety of hors d’oeuvres. Proceeds will benefit MyMichigan Medical Center Gladwin’s Breast Health Fund, which helps provide access to breast cancer screening services.
