Great Lakes Rheumatology Joins MyMichigan Medical Group

Rheumatologist Albert Manlapit, M.D., joins MyMichigan Medical Group. The office remains at same location in Saginaw. 

Albert Manlapit. M.D., of Great Lakes Rheumatology has joined MyMichigan Medical Group of MyMichigan Health. While the practice name has changed to MyMichigan Rheumatology, patients can expect a seamless transition with no disruption to care. The office will remain at its current location, 5453 Hampton Place in Saginaw.

Dr. Manlapit, a board-certified rheumatologist with over 30 years of experience in outpatient care, specializes in the diagnosis and management of rheumatologic conditions, including complex inflammatory and autoimmune disorders.

“We’re excited to welcome these team members to the MyMichigan family and we are working to make this transition as seamless as possible for them and for patients,” said Andrew Gardner-Northrop, director, MyMichigan Medical Group. “Dr. Manlapit and his staff will continue to offer the Saginaw community compassionate and quality care to help his patients live a full and active life.”

With a focus on preservation of function, prevention of joint damage and control of the inflammatory process, Dr. Manlapit balances his clinical experience with current evidence-based advances in therapeutics.

“For many patients, the uncertainty can feel heavier than anything else they’re facing,” Dr. Manlapit said. “The first step is to determine how the patient’s symptoms affect self-care, mobility, family life, work and emotional well-being.” He understands that no two patients’ story is the same. Therefore, he partners with the patient to construct an individualized treatment plan, helping them navigate flares, adjusting treatment along the way and staying vigilant for any disease evolution. He understands that rheumatologic diseases are chronic, making continuity of care, access and trust essential for every patient.

Practice management and day-to-day operations, including installing MyMichigan’s electronic medical record, which is powered by Epic, will be overseen by MyMichigan Medical Group, a multi-specialty, multi-location practice and wholly owned subsidiary of MyMichigan Health.
