MyMichigan Medical Centers Earn National Honors for Nursing Residency Programs

MyMichigan Medical Centers in Alma, Clare, Midland and Mt.  Pleasant have received their third consecutive accreditation for the Practice Transition Accreditation Program® (PTAP) from the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

The accreditation recognizes nursing residency programs that meet global standards for supporting nurses as they transition into new practice settings. Achieving this milestone for a third consecutive cycle reflects MyMichigan Health’s continued investment in workforce development, clinical excellence and long-term nursing success.

“We are committed to lifelong learning and providing high-quality patient care. This achievement shows the collaboration and dedication of our nursing professional development specialists, senior simulation specialists, clinical preceptors and leadership teams across the health system,” said Marissa Palmer, D.N.P., R.N., system vice president & chief nursing officer, MyMichigan Health.  “Their efforts in strengthening curriculum and supporting nurse residents help position MyMichigan Health as a destination for nursing excellence.

The ANCC Practice Transition Accreditation Program® sets the benchmark for residency and fellowship programs that help registered nurses transition into new practice settings. Through evidence-based curriculum and support structures, PTAP-accredited programs help nurses move from the classroom to the bedside with confidence.

MyMichigan Health’s nurse residency program is designed to support nurses transitioning into these roles.
