Patients receiving oncology care at MyMichigan Medical Center Towne Centre are benefiting from a new level of comfort thanks to community donations to the MyMichigan Health Foundation. New, state-of-the-art infusion chairs are now in use, enhancing the patient experience during chemotherapy and other treatments with advanced ergonomic design, improved orthopedic support and features that reduce anxiety during long treatment sessions.
“The team at MyMichigan Chemotherapy and Infusion Services at Towne Centre are grateful for the financial support to purchase 11 recliners for our department,” said Kevin Kent, M.S.N., R.N., C.C.R.N.-K., N.P.D.-B.C., manager, Infusion Services, MyMichigan Health. “The updated recliners provide comfort and accessibility for the patient, including heat to support the patient during their infusion appointment. The recliners have updated the Infusion Center furniture to the latest in patient comfort. We know our patients will enjoy these new recliners.”
The $52,100 project was supported by several generous community donations, including Penput Tangsintanapas, M.D., and the MyMichigan Health Foundation Cancer Fund, as well as other generous community gifts.
