Through their service and generosity, the volunteers who operate the Gift Shop, Popcorn Cart and Volunteer Operating Board at MyMichigan Medical Center Midland continue to make a difference for patients, visitors and staff. This year, proceeds from Gift Shop and Popcorn Cart sales, along with special volunteer fundraising events, provided more than $273,000 for equipment and resources benefiting departments throughout the Medical Center.

These contributions have supported numerous patient care areas, including Cardiology, Center for Women’s Health, Diagnostic Radiology, Emergency Room, General Surgery, Home Care Services, Home Infusion, Intensive Care Unit, Laboratory, Medical Oncology, Neuro Medical Surgical, Outpatient Behavioral Health, Rehabilitation Services, Riecker Surgery Center, Respiratory Therapy and Sleep Disorders. Volunteer support also helped fund a blood pressure kiosk located at the Medical Center’s main entrance, providing a convenient wellness resource for patients and visitors.

“The impact of our volunteers reaches far beyond the funds they raise,” said Denise O’Keefe, executive director, MyMichigan Health Foundation. “Their dedication, compassion and willingness to serve create a welcoming environment for everyone who walks through our doors. We are deeply grateful not only for their financial support, but also for the countless service hours they give to our Medical Center.”

The Gift Shop and popcorn sales have become favorite amenities among employees, patients and visitors alike. Whether purchasing a thoughtful gift, grabbing a snack, or simply enjoying a friendly conversation, many individuals experience firsthand the warmth and hospitality these volunteers bring to the Medical Center each day. In addition to the important funds raised, the volunteers contribute countless hours of service that help enhance the patient and visitor experience.

MyMichigan Medical Center Midland and the MyMichigan Health Foundation extend its sincere appreciation to all Gift Shop and Popcorn Service Volunteers for their continued dedication and support. Their generosity helps ensure patients across the region have access to high-quality care and advanced resources close to home.
