MyMichigan Health Foundation Launches Tropical Escape Raffle to Benefit Local Patients
The MyMichigan Health Foundation invites the community to take a chance on an unforgettable vacation while supporting patients at MyMichigan Medical Center Tawas.
The 2026 Tropical Escape Raffle is now underway, with tickets available for $20 each. The winning ticket will be drawn on Friday, October 16, 2026, at noon in the main lobby of MyMichigan Medical Center Tawas. Proceeds from the raffle will benefit the Compassionate Needs Fund at MyMichigan Medical Center Tawas.
“The Compassionate Needs Fund allows us to respond quickly when a patient has an urgent need that isn’t covered through traditional resources,” said Michelle Bacarella, fund development specialist, MyMichigan Health Foundation. “Whether it’s providing specialized equipment, sensory items, comfort items for children, or other essential patient care supplies, donor support helps us ease the burden during a difficult time. Every raffle ticket purchased directly supports local patients and families, making a meaningful difference when they need it most.”
With the 2026 Tropical Escape Raffle, one lucky winner will receive a seven-night stay for up to four guests (two adults and two children under age 12) at the Mayan Palace in Riviera Maya, Nuevo Vallarta, or Puerto Peñasco, Mexico, plus $1,000 in spending money. The prize package includes a studio master room with one studio bedroom and one bathroom, accommodating up to two adults and two children under 12 years old, making a meaningful difference for individuals and families when they need it most.
The vacation package does not include airfare, resort fees or hotel taxes. The primary traveler must be at least 25 years old. Winners have 12 months from the purchase date to confirm their reservation and up to 18 months from the purchase date to travel. Blackout dates include Thanksgiving week, Christmas week and New Year’s week; all other dates are subject to availability. Resort fees are payable upon redemption, and hotel taxes are due at checkout. This experience is non-transferable, and once confirmed, all reservations are final.
