Thanks to the generosity of volunteers at MyMichigan Medical Center Saginaw, $45,480 has been invested into advanced medical technology and patient-centered programs that enhance care for individuals throughout the Saginaw community.
One of the key investments includes the Parks Flo-Lab 2100 Vascular System, a non-invasive vascular diagnostic system used by MyMichigan Medical Center Saginaw to assess and diagnose peripheral vascular disease. This advanced technology allows care teams to evaluate blood flow throughout a patient’s legs and pinpoint circulation issues with greater precision.
“The imaging team can use this new equipment to evaluate blood flow throughout a patient’s legs, pinpointing where the circulation issue is happening,” said Cory Wheeler, imaging services manager, MyMichigan Medical Center Saginaw. “This test is commonly ordered for patients with cold feet, diabetes or a history of smoking, ensuring optimal blood flow all the way down to their toes. We truly appreciate the incredible financial support of our hospital volunteers.”
In addition to this equipment, the volunteers are supporting several patient-centered assistance programs at MyMichigan Medical Center Saginaw and MyMichigan Medical Center Towne Centre. This includes patient assistance gas transportation cards and wig supplies for the MyMichigan Saginaw Towne Centre Oncology Wig Room. Funding also supports the ER Book Program, which provides children’s books to kids visiting MyMichigan’s Emergency Departments at the Medical Centers in Saginaw and Towne Centre or their pediatrician at MyMichigan’s clinics in Birch Run, Frankenmuth, Saginaw, Standish and Vassar.
The MyMichigan Medical Center Saginaw volunteers annually fund critical patient care programs through proceeds raised through the Timeless Treasures Thrift Shop, Happy Hearts Gift Shop, weekly popcorn sales and various special fundraisers. MyMichigan Health Foundation extends its heartfelt thanks to the volunteers for their commitment and generosity, and to all who support their efforts.
