Women’s Health Provider Joins MyMichigan Obstetrics & Gynecology in Clare

Kara Smith, F.N.P.-C., M.S.N., C.L.C., L.C.E., P.M.H.-C.

Kara Elaina Smith, F.N.P.-C., M.S.N., C.L.C., L.C.E., P.M.H.-C., a board-certified family nurse practitioner specializing in obstetrics and gynecology, has joined MyMichigan Obstetrics & Gynecology in Clare and is accepting new patients. She works directly with providers at MyMichigan Obstetrics & Gynecology in Alma and Mt. Pleasant.

Smith has nearly eight years of clinical experience in the areas of surgical intensive care, the operating room, labor and delivery, and obstetrics and gynecology. She is also a certified lactation consultant and educator.

“My philosophy of care is based on listening. I take time to ensure patients feel heard and understood, focusing on what matters most to each person,” said Smith. “I want to partner with patients through every phase of a woman’s health journey, helping them set personalized goals based on age, condition and any unique needs.”

Smith provides comprehensive women’s health services including fertility consultations; birth control consultations, including intrauterine devices (IUDs) and Nexplanon; pregnancy and postpartum care, and support for perimenopause and menopause.

She earned a Master of Science degree in Nursing from Youngstown State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Ferris State University. She is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and is a member of the organization.
