Alma Opportunities

Critical Care/Hospital Medicine

MyMichigan Medical Center Alma has an exciting new opportunity for two NP/PA’s to be a part of the hospital medicine and critical care teams. This current team consists of 8 physicians and 2 APPs, with a wide variety of experience and training.

The full-time night position will be 12-hour shifts working 7 days on, 7 days off from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. There will not be call requirements but holidays will be included in the rotation if they fall on the APPs scheduled week.

This inpatient position will have responsibilities that include, but are not limited to, inpatient rounding and discharges, emergency room and inpatient consults, and strong collaboration with the hospital medicine and critical care teams. Procedures would include intubations as well as central lines and arterial lines.

This position will have great learning opportunities while working closely with the Board Certified Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Physicians to manage critical care patients using 24/7 Tele-Consultations.

Due to the responsibilities, experienced providers are highly preferred for this position but all experience will be reviewed.

Hematology Oncology and Radiation Oncology

MyMichigan Medical Center Alma is seeking a compassionate APP, preferably with experience, to join our HemOnc/RadOnc team to provide excellent care for our patients.

This full time position is Monday – Friday, traditional office hours. There will be a mix of inpatient and outpatient work as well as supporting our radiation oncology department 1.5 days a week. Outpatient visits include, but are not limited to, acute visits for patients with chemo complications, follow up visits for those on therapy, and hospital follow ups. Inpatient responsibilities include initial rounding on consults for all hem/onc patients and working collaboratively with the physicians as they complete their rounds which may include telemedicine visits.

MyMichigan Health has a wonderful mentorship program and robust training to ensure this APP has all necessary tools to be successful in their role. There will also be a Nurse Practitioner working out of Mt. Pleasant as a peer support and partner within the specialty.

Internal Medicine

MyMichigan Health is looking for a dedicated NP/PA to join an established primary care office in Alma, Michigan! This is a wonderful opportunity to treat patients 18 years of age and older. Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to physical exams, diagnose and treat illness, ordering and interpreting test results, basic in-office procedures, counseling on preventative health measures, appropriately prescribing and managing medications, and immunizations.

This position is located at our MyMichigan Internal Medicine Alma location. The supervising physician is located on site. This APP will have the opportunity to work alongside one physician.

This position is full time, Tuesday through Friday, with office hours from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be a call requirement shared with the physician in the practice.

Orthopedic Surgery

MyMichigan Medical Center Alma has an excellent opportunity for a motivated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join a very busy orthopedic and sports medicine practice in our central region. This opportunity will have responsibilities in Alma, Mt. Pleasant, and Clare. This APP will be joining a team of 3 orthopedic surgeons and 2 sports medicine physicians, with Dr. James Ware being the primary supervising/collaborating physician.

Job responsibilities include direct patient care in office including evaluation and management of musculoskeletal injuries for new patients and follow-up patients, and in-office procedures such as joint injections. The candidate will be responsible for inpatient tasks such as rounding, discharge planning, and first assist in the OR.

The anticipated schedule is primarily Monday – Friday and a minimum of 40 hours a week. No call or holiday requirement. Weekday hours may vary depending on case length and patient schedules. Percentage of outpatient and inpatient responsibilities will be based on the demands of the practice and are subject to change.

Psychiatry (Private Practice)

Family Health Psychiatric & Counseling Center has a wonderful opportunity for graduate of an accredited physician assistance program or a psychiatric nurse practitioner.

The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to working under the direction of a psychiatrist. MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena has a great opportunity for an NP/PA that is interested in working on a casual basis. This primary care provider would provide coverage for Family Medicine, Pediatrics, and Walk-In Care seeing adults and pediatrics in an outpatient care setting.

This casual position would cover PTO and LOAs in Alpena. Clinic hours vary depending on location but the majority of the hours fall in a traditional work day, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Orthopedic Surgery

Are you an NP/PA with the desire to work independently and help market a newer venture for MidMichigan Health?

This opportunity has a “retail clinic” model in which the providers work independently with the support of the physicians at MidMichigan Health Park Bay. Provider would be responsible for low acuity visits and patient assessments. The position is 3 shifts one week, and 4 the next with 12 hour days. Days/hours may vary depending on weekday vs weekend shifts.

The APP must be comfortable working independently and have a strong desire to be a face of the practice working in a tight knit dynamic team. There will be a requirement for the provider to complete DOT Medical Training to become a DOT certified medical examiner. As the position grows and services expand, additional specified certifications may be required.

Palliative Medicine

MyMichigan Health has a unique opportunity for a compassionate NP/PA to join our Palliative Medicine team. This NP/PA will be a part of a very strong group of providers that split up the MyMichigan Health geography to see patients where they are. There will be a mix of working within specialty clinics, assisting living facilities, patient homes, and virtual settings.

The full-time, Monday through Friday opportunity will be traditional daytime business hours. There will be a call rotation, mostly managed over the phone. There will be no in-person holiday coverage. The APP will be primarily in an outpatient setting and cover the Alma hospital as needed to see inpatient palliative care referrals.

Visits are focused on symptom management for patients with chronic, life limiting conditions. Providers are often managing pain, shortness of breath, depression, and other diagnoses related to conditions including, but not limited to, cancer, COPD, and MS. As this opportunity focuses on seeing patients where they are, this APP will conduct visits in patient’s homes, assisted living facilities, and within our clinics. Each APP will have their own territory but may be asked to assist in other areas for vacations and LOAs.

There will be a robust training and onboarding program, as well as a formal mentorship program to ensure this NP/PA has all of the necessary tools to complete their job. Experience within a palliative care setting is preferred, but the team is willing to accept a new graduate with relevant background and experience.

Harrison Opportunities

Family Medicine

MyMichigan Health is looking for a dedicated NP/PA to join an established Family Medicine practice in Harrison, MI! This fantastic opportunity is located at the MyMichigan Health Park Harrison. This role will provide acute care, walk in services to patients already established in the practice. As a family medicine provider, you will have the opportunity to care for patients in all stages of life, newborn through geriatrics. Midland Opportunities

Cardiac Surgery (Casual)

MyMichigan Medical Center Midland is seeking an experienced NP/PA to work with our Cardiothoracic Surgery team. This position is a casual position to assist in weekend coverage with one weekend per month preferred. There will also be the ability to pick up time off coverage as well.

This Cardiothoracic surgery position includes responsibilities such as inpatient rounding to include consults and post-op care, and assisting in the operating room. Due to the responsibilities, only experienced providers will be considered for this position. OR experience is strongly preferred.

There is no holiday requirement or outpatient clinic duties for the casual position.

Cardiology (Inpatient)

MyMichigan Medical Center Midland is seeking an NP/PA that has a passion to work in an inpatient setting with cardiology patients. This is a full-time position working with our dynamic cardiology team consisting of a 8 physicians, 3 established APPs, and a full complement of cardiovascular service line specialties. The preference would be a provider with experience, but the team would be willing to consider a new grad.

This position is 5 days per week with primary responsibilities in the inpatient setting, and a small percentage of time spent in the outpatient clinic following established patients and follow ups. This APP can expect to work M-F, daytime hour. Start and end hours are subject to flex depending on patient load. Inpatient responsibilities will focus on rounding and discharges within the hospital.

The inpatient cardiology APP will rotate through a weekend and holiday rotation shared with all APPs in the cardiology service line, which will be approximately 1 in every 11 weekends. The weekend rotation is shared with cardiology, electrophysiology, and heart failure APPs. This APP will receive training to cover all areas during their weekend/holiday obligation.

Family Medicine

MyMichigan Health is looking for an experienced Physician Assistant to join an established family medicine practice in Midland, Michigan! This fantastic opportunity is located at MyMichigan Family Medicine in the Campus Ridge building on the campus of MyMichigan Medical Center Midland, and allows you to follow patients through all stages of life, newborn through geriatrics.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, physical exams, diagnosis and treatment of illness, ordering and interpretation of test results, counseling on preventative health measures, appropriately prescribing and managing medications, and immunizations.

The PA will be working alongside nine established physicians and two physician assistants with a wide range of experience. The supervising physician is located on site. The care team also includes the support of a care manager, behavioral health specialist and an ambulatory pharmacist.

This outpatient position is full-time, Monday through Friday, with traditional office hours. At this time, there is not a call requirement for APPs but as the position grows it could be a future discussion. Please also note there is a potential to reinstate Saturday hours offering services from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. as a shared rotation with all physicians and APPs but that is not active at this time.

Hospital Medicine (casual position)

MyMichigan Health has a casual position for an experienced NP/PA to work with our hospital medicine team. Hours will vary depending on shift availability, including days, afternoons, and nights. This casual APP will have the opportunity to cover hospital medicine shifts in Alma, Clare, Midland and West Branch.

Responsibilities include working with the hospitalist physician to see new admissions, rounding on existing inpatients, taking nursing calls and responding to code situations. This is an employed position with MyMichigan Medical Group. Experience in inpatient setting is preferred. Applicant must have their board certification, Michigan license, CS3, and DEA.

Hospital Medicine Command Center (Night Shift)

MyMichigan Medical Center Midland is seeking two eager and motivated NP/PAs to join a friendly hospital medicine team in Midland, MI. This APP will be working on our Command Center team and collaborating with hospital medicine providers.

If you are an individual with strong critical thinking skills, workplace flexibility, and ability to adapt to change in your role, this is a great position for you! Surgical Services

This is a wonderful opportunity for a qualified nurse practitioner or physician assistant to join one of MyMichigan Health’s most well-known service lines! Surgical Services at MyMichigan Medical Center Midland is seeking a full-time NP/PA for an inpatient opportunity. Responsibilities include managing patient admissions and consults and boarding surgical cases for general surgery, trauma surgery (excluding Level I Trauma), and urology. Hospital-wide first call for all IP surgical services, to include general surgery, trauma (excluding ICU), orthopedics, urology, and colorectal surgery.

This is a nighttime schedule, 12 hours per shift, 7 days on / 7 days off.

There is no call requirement at this time. Holidays that fall within scheduled workdays are required.

Qualified candidates will be a Graduate of accredited CRNP or PA program, valid/current CPR /ACLS certification. ATLS Certification must be completed by the end of orientation. One year of experience preferred.

Ideal candidate experienced in chest tube placement, but training is available.

Urgent Care (Float Position)

MyMichigan Health Urgent Care and EZCare facilities are currently interviewing NP/PA providers for a full-time float position! If you are interested in working in fast paced environments and the ability to become familiar with all of our locations, this position is for you.

There will be a mix of shifts that are single coverage and double coverage. Some shifts may be 8 hours, while others are 12 hours. This 1.0 FTE position is equal to 80 hours per pay period (bi-weekly).

MyMichigan Urgent Care locations provide walk-in and self-scheduled appointments, seeing all ages and conditions in a fun and friendly environment. In addition to acute care, the ideal candidate will also see patients with occupational health related screenings, physicals, and work-related injuries.

The Urgent Cares are fully equipped modern facilities with onsite x-ray, integrated EPIC EMR, and an experienced care team. Our nurses and radiology techs are dedicated to support you in providing excellent patient care, and our full-time leadership is on site to assure smooth clinic operations.

Urgent Care experience preferred but not required. DOT certification preferred, but on the job training for certification is available. BLS is a required certification for the position.

This float position would provide services to MyMichigan Health Urgent Care or EZCare locations in Alma, Bay City, Clare, Freeland, Gladwin, Midland, and West Branch.

Vascular Surgery

MyMichigan Medical Center Midland has a very exciting opportunity for a third NP/PA interested in Vascular Surgery! This is a great opportunity to join two APPs and three physicians in a very successful practice.

This position is a mix of outpatient, inpatient and OR responsibilities. This APP will be working in the vascular surgery outpatient clinic seeing pre-op, post-op, and established patients visits. Inpatient responsibilities to include consults, post-ops, and discharges. There will also be responsibilities to assist in the OR.

A travel/satellite clinic will likely be established in Mt. Pleasant or Clare.

The position will be day shift hours, with the average day running from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Flexibility will be needed with the end of day, as all consults will need to be completed before departure. There will be a 1:3 weekend call requirement shared with the team, as well as a holiday rotation.

Mt. Pleasant Opportunities

Pulmonology

MyMichigan Medical Center Mt. Pleasant has a full time outpatient Pulmonology position for an experienced or newly graduated PA to work with Dr. Obeid. This position is a daytime position, Monday – Friday and does not require call or nighttime coverage (potential for change as the position evolves).

The PA would be responsible for assisting Dr. Obeid with managing patients - both new and established, COPD, asthma education, medication management, pulmonology testing, and more. You will have the ability to work closely with the physician, worksite supervisor, nurse, and medical assistance's in the practice to provide top notch care for all pulmonology patients.

This position also allows the PA a sense of autonomy in seeing patients in the office while Dr. Obeid is at the hospital covering call. The office is located at MyMichigan Medical Center Mt. Pleasant and has a wide range of support services available on site to included lab, x-ray, pharmacy, and more. There is the possibility of a satellite clinic in the future.
