Sexual Health and Pelvic Recovery After Cancer Treatment
Cancer treatment can bring big changes, not just to your health, but to how one’s body feels every day. Surgeries, chemotherapy, radiation and hormonal therapies can affect the pelvic floor muscles, nerves and organs of the pelvis. After cancer treatment, these muscles may become tight, weak, or uncoordinated, which may lead to changes in bladder control, bowel habits, sexual function, fertility, and overall comfort. These changes are common, valid and treatable. With the right support, many people regain comfort, control, and confidence.
