Essential Support for Mom with a Newborn
Having a baby brings many changes, and MyMichigan Health is committed to helping mothers get a strong, healthy start for themselves and their newborns. When moms feel supported and well, they’re better able to raise happier, healthier children.
Postpartum depression is a common concern, and without support, it can have long-lasting effects on both mother and baby. That’s why maternal mental health is an essential part of perinatal care and overall maternal safety.
The ROSE Program (Reach Out, Stay Strong, Essentials for Mothers of Newborns) is an evidence-based program designed to help lower the risk of postpartum depression. Participants learn practical skills and receive information, tools, and resources to support their well-being as they adjust to life with a new baby.
During eight weekly sessions, Tara Stockmeyer, L.M.S.W., will teach participants the skills needed to help with stress, manage relationships and plan for the future, especially changes once baby arrives and how to manage these changes successfully.
