Fighting Cancer Through Donations and Volunteer Opportunities

For many cancer patients and their families, helping others can be an important part of healing. MyMichigan can assist you in volunteering your time and talents or in making a donation to cancer-related charitable funds that will make a difference locally.

Your donations enable us to progressively treat cancer by providing the technology to fight disease and the tools to make the battle as dignified and supportive as possible. To learn more about the MyMichigan Health Foundation and how to donate.

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteering is a great way to make a difference in someone's life while meeting new people and creating special memories. These are just a few of the volunteer opportunities at MyMichigan Health that directly benefit patients and families who are fighting cancer:

  • Fundraising - Volunteers assist in a variety of fundraising events and activities that enable MyMichigan affiliates to provide much-needed patient care and equipment.
  • Home Care/Hospice - Volunteers may work on in-office projects or with hospice patients at home, performing errands and chores, providing a friendly chat or offering family members rest from the responsibilities of caregiving.
  • Maria Mencia Cancer Caregiver Network - Volunteers offer resources and support to caregivers of cancer patients.
  • Patient Services - Volunteers provide direct assistance to inpatients, outpatients and their families in a variety of settings including MyMichigan's surgery centers, infusion centers, rehabilitation centers, inpatient units and long-term care facilities. Volunteers provide personalized touches that make a memorable difference in patient care, such as delivering cards, gifts, nutritional foods and beverages, warm blankets, comfort and support.
