Healing Hearts Support Group
Recovering from a heart or vascular procedure can feel overwhelming. You may face new challenges, lifestyle changes, and lots of questions about your care. That’s why MyMichigan Health created the Healing Hearts Support Group — a place where you can find encouragement, answers, and people who understand what you’re going through.
Who Can Join
You’re welcome to join if you have:
- Had coronary bypass surgery
- Undergone balloon angioplasty
- Received a heart device implant
- Been diagnosed with heart failure or peripheral artery disease
Family members and caregivers are also encouraged to attend.
What You’ll Get
At Healing Hearts, you’ll:
- Connect with others who have been through similar experiences
- Get guidance from heart and vascular experts
- Learn tips to manage recovery and everyday life
- Ask questions about medicine, diet, rehab, and more
- Find emotional support for you and your loved ones
Topics We Cover
Each monthly meeting focuses on practical topics, such as:
- Eating healthy during the holidays
- Managing stress
- Exercising safely after surgery or procedures
- Understanding your medications
Future meetings are shaped by what you and the group want to learn more about.
Expert Support
At many meetings, you’ll hear from doctors, nurses, dietitians, rehab specialists, and counselors. They’ll explain things in clear language and answer your questions directly.
Why Join?
You don’t have to face recovery alone. Healing Hearts gives you a safe, supportive space to share, learn, and build confidence as you heal.
Meeting Dates/Times
The groups meet monthly in-person or virtually in Midland and Alpena. We do encourage you to register.
