Managing Diabetes
Whether newly diagnosed with type 1 or type 2 diabetes or seeking a refresher course, the diabetes educators at MyMichigan Health can help you live well with diabetes. Classes are designed for adults with diabetes on diet, oral medications or insulin. During the class series, participants will establish a treatment plan and set goals for healthy living. Topics covered include: healthy eating and meal planning, blood sugar testing, medications, exercise and preventing diabetes-related complications.
A physician's referral is required to register for this class, and insurances are billed.

Managing Type 2 Diabetes
Designed for newly diagnosed or previously diagnosed adults with type 2 diabetes who use diet or oral medication therapy. The class provides an overview of type 2 diabetes and includes self-care skills training. Topics covered include: medications, meal planning, blood sugar testing, what to expect from your doctor and more. The program includes three sessions meeting weekly. The team consists of a diabetes nurse and dietitian working with the patient to set goals for healthier living.
