FlightCare provides safe, expert critical care transport for patients in need of urgent, life-saving services throughout Michigan's Lower Peninsula. Our mission is to improve patient outcomes through teamwork, clinical excellence, and continuous education.

Every FlightCare transport is staffed by a highly trained team, including an experienced pilot, flight nurse and flight paramedic. Our medical crews are certified in advanced trauma, critical care, and airborne emergency medicine, enabling them to deliver advanced interventions during flight under physician-approved protocols.

Expert Pilots, Proven Experience

Pilots are certified for both day and night operations, and each brings more than 2,000 hours of flight experience, ensuring safe and reliable transport in a variety of conditions. FlightCare pilots hold FAA Commercial Rotorcraft certification and helicopter instrument ratings. They meet strict flight time and night-flying requirements, ensuring every mission is conducted with skill, precision and safety in mind.

About The Helicopter

FlightCare’s EC-135 helicopter, owned and operated by Med-Trans Corporation, is one of the industry’s most reliable mid-sized, twin-engine aircraft. Known for its extended range, exceptional maneuverability, and stability in both hot weather and high-altitude conditions, the EC-135 is built for critical care transport.

Equipped with advanced navigation, night vision technology, and traffic collision avoidance systems, this aircraft ensures the highest level of transport safety. Supporting our operations is an on-site mechanic with more than 25 years of aviation maintenance experience.

Outreach and Education

FlightCare offers hands-on education and outreach programs on topics like clinical care, aircraft safety, landing zone safety, and base tours. We can tailor the content to fit your group—whether you’re from a hospital, fire department, law enforcement, ground ambulance, or another emergency service. We also provide sessions for medical conferences and community events.

FlightCare is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year — weather permitting – providing safe, rapid, high quality air transportation for critically ill and injured adult and pediatric patients throughout Michigan’s Lower Peninsula.
