What It Is and How to Get Ready
Neurodiagnostic tests show how well your brain and nervous system function. These tests check at your body's electrical signals. They help to find issues like seizures, nerve damage, or other problems in your brain, spine, or nerves.

Before Your Test
Your doctor’s office should have given you a Neurodiagnostic Order Form. This form shows which tests you need and where you’ll go to get them. Be sure to check the form to make sure everything is correct.
On the day of your test:
- Bring your order form with you.
- Follow the prep instructions listed below for your specific test.
Types of Tests and How to Prepare
An EEG is a safe, painless test that checks the electrical activity of your brain. Small stickers (electrodes) are placed on the scalp to record the brainwaves.
