What is a Breast Ultrasound?
Ultrasound uses high frequency sound waves to produce images. It is very good at imaging soft tissues, lymph nodes, glands and organs. In breast evaluation, it is most often used to further evaluate a density or mass seen on a mammogram, or to evaluate a lump felt during a manual exam.
