Biography

Laura Brown is a nurse practitioner who specializes in cardiology. As a member of MidMichigan Physicians Group, she sees and treats patients in Midland and Pigeon.

Even before attending nursing school, Laura knew she eventually wanted to pursue a career in cardiac care. “It was a decision I made while volunteering on a cardiac floor,” she said. “The patient interaction was more involved and more personal because cardiac patients require more ongoing care and education than other patients. I really enjoyed working with them.”

Laura has been a registered nurse specializing in cardiology since graduating with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1999.

Philosophy of Care

Laura is passionate about patient education.

“Knowledge can empower my patients and help them lead a healthier life,” she said. “I try to create a trusting relationship with my patients, as well as with their family members. It’s important that all members of the household know the value of developing healthy eating and exercise habits.”

Laura, her husband, and their three children live in Freeland. They enjoy camping, fishing, skiing and other outdoor activities.
