Biography

William R. Felten, M.D., is an interventional cardiologist with MyMichigan Health and is a member of the comprehensive heart and vascular team. This team includes cardiologists, interventional cardiologists, electrophysiologists, vascular and cardiothoracic surgeons, as well as cardiovascular trained nurses. Dr. Felten serves as the cardiovascular service line chief and is responsible for ensuring the highest quality and consistency of heart and vascular care at MyMichigan Health.

Dr. Felten received his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health and completed his residency at Loyola University of Chicago. While at Loyola University, he also completed fellowships in cardiology and interventional cardiology.

Philosophy of Care

“Remarkable advances are being made in cardiology, such as repairing certain types of holes in the heart without open heart surgery, and electrical mapping of the heart to find and fix the exact cause of arrhythmia,” said Dr. Felten.

Special Interests and Procedures

In practice since 1994, Dr. Felten specializes in performing angioplasty, atherectomy, chronic total occlusion (CTO) angioplasty, coronary arteriography, diagnostic cardiac catheterization, intra-aortic balloon pump insertion and management, percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA) and stent procedures.
