Biography

Wesley Fisher is a certified physician assistant who treats patients of all ages. Wes has practiced for more than 15 years, and while he particularly enjoys family medicine, he also has experience in urgent care and cardiology. “One of the rewards of family medicine is working with different personalities and meeting different health challenges,” Wes said. “I enjoy getting to know my patients and being able to provide what they need.”

Wes also volunteers his time and professional expertise to various community health organizations as well as American Red Cross, Special Olympics, United Way and Big Brothers Big Sisters.

An Arthur Hill High School teacher, Fred Case, initially set Wes on the path that led to a career in medicine. “He got me interested in science and in gaining an education,” Wes said. “Without his influence, I wouldn’t be where I am today.”

Philosophy of Care

“One of my goals is to make every appointment as comfortable and enjoyable as possible,” Wes said. “I take the time to really care for the person and spend a lot of time talking with them. After all, if I’m going to work with them and help them, I first have to get to know them. I learn who they are, what they need and how best I can help.”

Wes encourages his patients take an active role in their health and well-being. “I want my patients to be as interactive and as prepared as possible, for example, by bringing a list of prescriptions, allergies and questions,” he said. “I’ll help them understand what is happening and how I can help. I’ll explain how their body works, how different medicines work, and how they can help themselves.”

Wes is dedicated to providing outstanding patient care. “I want people to leave my office knowing that I’ve taken good care of them. I want them to understand the plan we’ve put in place, and I want them to leave with a smile,” Wes said. “There’s nothing better than when someone comes back and says, ‘Thank you for your help.’’’

A native of Saginaw, Wes has spent his professional life serving patients in northern and upper Michigan. He is the father of a precocious young son. In his spare time Wes enjoys reading as well as biking, skiing and weightlifting. Wes was voted as one of the top two overall providers in Ogemaw County.
