Biography
Danika Kabelman, M.S.N., F.N.P.-C., is a certified family nurse practitioner and a member of MyMichigan Health’s comprehensive musculoskeletal team. Danika sees patients in the office of Orthopedic Surgeon Shane Woolever, D.O. She chose to pursue a career as a nurse practitioner because of her commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care and her desire to play an active role in improving patients’ functional outcomes.
“I was drawn to orthopedics because of the opportunity to help patients reduce pain, restore function, and improve mobility through both non-operative and surgical care,” she said. “I enjoy helping patients get back to the activities that are most important to them.”
Philosophy of Care
According to Danika, her philosophy of care is based on compassion, education, and collaboration. “I believe in listening carefully to patients, providing clear and realistic education about diagnoses and treatment options, and involving them in shared decision-making,” she said. “I strive to deliver evidence-based care while working closely with physicians, therapists, and other team members to ensure patients feel supported throughout their treatment and recovery.”
Special Interests and Procedures
Danika has a growing interest in musculoskeletal assessment, conservative management of orthopedic conditions, and post-operative care. “My clinical interests include joint pain management, fracture care, sports-related injuries, and supporting patients through rehabilitation and return to daily activities,” she added. “I am especially interested in patient education and helping patients understand their treatment plans and recovery goals.”
