Philosophy of Care
“Patient care does not happen without the patients. I aim to treat every patient with dignity and respect to achieve mutually agreed upon goals of care that best improves the quality of life for the patient,” says Lia. “Using best practices and collaborating with the care team, I endeavor to effectively and efficiently meet the needs of the patient so far as I am able.”
Lia became interested in urology as it is an underserved field, with a limited number of providers and yet a growing population needing urology services. She wants to make a difference in the lives of patients and improve outcomes. Within the field of urology, there are many measurable markers of improvement in the quality of life for patients.
“It’s my desire to create a relationship with patients in which they feel safe enough to address their health concerns,” said Lia. “I want patients to feel that they have been heard, and I never want to pretend that I know everything, If a patient asks a question I can’t answer, I will find the answer to the best of my ability. I will do everything I can to help patients reach their health goals.”
A favorite aspect of Lia’s role as a medical provider is seeing the patient progress and improve through a plan of care. “I enjoy seeing a patient move from where they initially presented to having an improved quality of life because of interventions I’ve helped to implement.”
