Biography
Caitlyn (Lapshan) Nemeth, M.S.N., P.M.H.N.P.-B.C., specializes in psychiatry and joins the team of mental health providers at MyMichigan Psychiatry on the campus of MyMichigan Medical Center Midland.
Philosophy of Care
Nemeth was drawn to the field of mental health care because she has a passion for helping others and it gives her the opportunity to form meaningful connections with patients. “I find it deeply rewarding to support individuals through life’s challenges and help them work toward the best possible quality of life,” she said. “I’m dedicated to breaking down the stigma surrounding mental health and providing compassionate, evidence-based care to every patient I serve.”
Her philosophy of care revolves around empathy, respect and treating each person as an individual. Nemeth believes that open communication is vital, allowing her patients to express themselves comfortably and helping her better understand their needs to support their mental health.
“I aim to foster a safe, non-judgmental environment where my patients feel heard and supported,” added Nemeth. “I seek to build trust and promote dignity to help my patients take an active role in reaching their goals.”
Nemeth feels the most satisfying aspect of her work is seeing the positive changes in her patients over time, no matter how big or small. “Just knowing that I am helping to make a difference in someone’s life and mental health journey is incredibly rewarding,” she said.
She finds the growing understanding of how the gut microbiome influences mental health to be one of the most fascinating developments in the field.
In her spare time, Nemeth enjoys traveling, running, hiking, reading and spending time with my husband and family. She is also the proud owner of Aspen, a pomsky (Pomeranian/husky mix).
