Biography
Kinal Patel, D.O. specializes in internal medicine. She sees adult patients at MidMichigan Health Park - Harrison.
Philosophy of Care
“I enjoy the variety and complexity of cases on a daily basis and how you can really improve the quality of a patient’s life,” Dr. Patel said. “I believe the patient and physician are a team. I like to take this approach when discussing treatment plans and explaining test results. My goal is to ensure that the patient is engaged in their own health care and can therefore be an active participant.”
‘I would like to create a relationship of mutual trust between myself and my patients. I enjoy educating them on preventive health care and also providing a clear explanation of their diagnoses, whether acute or chronic, to ensure that they fully understand.”
“When establishing a medical care plan with my patients, I believe that their needs and concerns must be heard first. Ordering tests and regurgitating test results is not why I went into practicing internal medicine. My goal is to know, treat, and comfort every patient. I do not see my role as a flash in the pan in a patient’s life but as a point of continuity and care.’
“As an osteopathic physician, I have been trained to perform Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT) which involves using hands-on techniques to diagnose, treat, and prevent illness or injury. Using OMT, a DO moves a patient’s muscles and joints using techniques that include stretching, gentle pressure and resistance.”
“I have a large, extended family, and I enjoy spending time with them and my close friends whenever possible. Also, I have a passion for traveling and exploring. I am always ready for an adventure. Not only have I traveled extensively around the U.S., but I have had the opportunity to explore many other countries as well. In addition, I enjoy listening to all kinds of music and attending musical performances. In my free time, I enjoy biking and watching sports such as basketball.”
