Biography
Jessica Rausch, F.N.P.-B.C., is a board-certified family nurse practitioner who specializes in obstetrics and gynecology. She sees women of all ages and feels she is a particularly good fit as a provider for adolescent and young adult women.
A co-op position initially sparked her interest in obstetrics and gynecology. “Working in labor and delivery opened my eyes to how strong and resilient women could be and I was hooked,” Jessica said. “I loved partnering with the women and ended up taking my first job as a registered nurse on that same unit.”
Jessica holds a holistic view of her patients. “With family practice training, I tend to think big picture,” she said. “Our bodies aren’t isolated systems; everything has to work together for us to be truly healthy, and I try to be aware of that with each patient, every day.”
Philosophy of Care
Jessica strives for a collaborative relationship with each patient. “My philosophy is that we’re better as a team!” she said. “Patients and I will have better success and outcomes if we work together. I also want patients to have choices and options in their care. My opinion on what we should do is really only half of the equation.”
She believes that open communication is the foundation of good relationships. “I want my patients to feel like we have a relationship where they are heard and respected,” Jessica said. “I want them to feel like they can tell me anything because the more honest they are with me, the better I can care for them.”
Jessica said that being a voice and a listening ear for women in her community is incredibly rewarding. “It makes me very happy when I hear things like ‘you really helped me understand’ or ‘I feel better now that I know this.’ Those statements help me to know that we’re on the same page.”
Jessica and her husband, Phil, are Midland natives. “I am excited to be in a practice in this town that I know and love,” she said.
Jessica likes being outdoors. “I’ve completed a few half marathons and even though I’m not speedy, I enjoy the goal setting and challenges that they present,” she said. They enjoy hiking, skiing and spending time in Northern Michigan. “I also love to travel to new places -- adventure is always appealing!”
