Biography
Akintayo Sokunbi, M.D., is a pulmonologist and critical care physician, and sees patients at his office in Midland. He also sees patients virtually as part of MyMichigan Health’s Tele-ICU program. Dr. Sokunbi has a passion for treating the critically ill, and enjoys that he’s able to see patients in the hospital when they are critically ill, and see them for a return visit in the clinic after they’ve gotten better.
Philosophy of Care
“My goal is to create close and meaningful relationships with my patients,” said Dr. Sokunbi. “I give my all toward helping patients get better, and am both dedicated to and passionate about caring for my patients.” Special Interests and Procedures Dr. Sokunbi has a special interest in ventilator management, point of care ultrasound, endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) and navigational bronchoscopy. His wife, Jeanine, is an internal medicine physician, and together they have two children. In his free time, Dr. Sokunbi enjoys music, swimming and playing table tennis.
