Biography
Mallory Stolicker, P.A.-C., is a board-certified physician assistant and a member of MyMichigan Health’s comprehensive musculoskeletal team. She specializes in general orthopedics and orthopedic trauma surgery.
“I went into the field of medicine because I wanted to make a difference in the way health care is seen from a patient’s perspective,” she said. “I hope to have a more collaborative approach to patient care than the authoritative or one way approach I’d grown up seeing when going to providers. I chose orthopedic trauma surgery specifically because I enjoyed my OR experience during clinicals. I also have a background in athletic training so orthopedics is an area in which I have experience.”
Philosophy of Care
According to Mallory, the most important things to her when caring for a patient are helping them reach their goals in a realistic manner and getting them back to where they want to be in life. “This means working with the patient to decide the best course of action based on the outcome they have in mind,” she said. “For instance, not every patient needs surgery, if the extra range of motion isn’t going to make a difference in their lives then a three-month surgical recovery may not be what that patient needs.”
