Biography
Ahsen Tatar, M.D., obstetrician and gynecologist, welcomes patients to the Center for Obstetrics and Gynecology in Alma. She is on the active medical staff at MyMichigan Medical Center Alma.
As long as Dr. Tatar can remember, she wanted to learn about the human body. She loved biology in high school and was confident that she wanted to become a physician. After her obstetrics and gynecology rotation, Dr. Tatar knew she was doing the right thing. She loves delivering babies, helping women get in tune with their bodies and creating a greater sense of self-awareness in her patients.
Philosophy of Care
“I try to understand what my patients are feeling,” said Dr. Tatar. “I believe building trusting relationships can be accomplished by listening closely to what my patients are saying and encouraging openness and honesty. The ability to help my patients is the most satisfying aspect of my work.”
Dr. Tatar is a mother herself. Outside of the practice of medicine, Dr. Tatar enjoys spending time with her kids. Her other hobbies include being outdoors and fishing.
“The thing that drew me to MyMichigan Medical Center Alma is the warmth of the Alma community and the quality of care provided at the Medical Center,” said Dr. Tatar.
Special Interests and Procedures
Dr. Tatar’s special interests cover the full scope of obstetrics and gynecological care including women’s health, education and prevention, colposcopy, high risk pregnancy, hysteroscopic surgery, tubal ligation, urinary incontinence, infertility, hysterectomies and laparoscopic and vaginal surgeries.
