Philosophy of Care

Growing up watching her father, Dr. Alan Scott, treat patients, Dr. Trommater was always interested in how vision works. She loves practicing in her hometown and making a positive impact in her community. Her working relationship with her father has influenced her philosophy of care. “My philosophy of care involves truly getting to know my patients and their families,” she said. “It is particularly satisfying to care for multiple generations of the same family.”

Dr. Trommater is passionate about her specialty and bringing new technologies to her community. “The continued development of better retinal imaging is pretty amazing,” she stated. “It is such a great teaching tool to have the ability to show patients exactly what is going on with their eyes. Also, giving someone their first pair of glasses and watching their reaction to what clear vision really looks like is very rewarding.”

She particularly enjoys working with children and fitting contact lenses. Dr. Trommater is experienced in treating minor injuries and those in pain. She is also known for her personal approach to providing care. “I want to learn the likes and dislikes of my patients with the primary goal of earning their trust,” she stated. “I believe in treating their families the same way in which I’d like my family treated under similar circumstances.”

Dr. Trommater and husband, Joe, have four children, ages 10 to 15. When not working, she enjoys spending time with them for family movie nights and attending their musical and athletic events. She also likes to hike, read and cook.
