Biography
Jennifer Woods, M.S.N., A.P.R.N., F.N.P.-B.C., is a board-certified family nurse practitioner with MidMichigan Health. She specializes in family medicine, and sees patients at MidMichigan Health Park - Gladwin.
Jennifer chose to become a nurse practitioner so that she could play an active role in making healthcare more accessible to more people. “The ability to establish relationships, and the opportunity to impact the health of the community attracted me to primary care in a rural setting,” she said. “I would like to partner with my patients toward the shared goal of optimal health.”
Philosophy of Care
Jennifer’s goal is to build a trusting relationship based on open communication, mutual respect, and trust.
“My background in nursing has allowed me to consider the person as a whole to develop treatment plans that consider environment.”
“There have been so many advances in medicine since I first became a nurse, but one of the most exciting things in healthcare to me is the difference that lifestyle modification can make. It is one of the most difficult things to manage or master, but ultimately the most rewarding. I am especially interested in weight management, and population health.”
She enjoys working with other providers and staff who are dedicated to providing excellent care to the patients they serve. “It is very rewarding to be part of such a great healthcare team.”
Jennifer also practices the healthy, active lifestyle that she encourages patients to work toward. “I enjoy yoga practice weekly. I am enthusiastic about my dogs (Handsome and Rosie). Recently I have started training with weights.”
Jennifer and her husband John live in Gladwin with their two sons Mitchell and Jacob.
