Biography
George Yassa, D.O., is a fellowship-trained cardiologist with MCVI. He is a member of the comprehensive heart and vascular team at MyMichigan Health. Dr. Yassa chose the field of medicine because he wanted a career centered on service, trust and meaningful long-term relationships with patients and families. “Cardiology attracted me because it combines complex physiology, advanced imaging, procedures, prevention and continuity of care,” he said. “I enjoy being able to help patients during critical moments, while also partnering with them over time to improve their heart health and quality of life.”
Philosophy of Care
“My philosophy of care is to treat every patient with compassion, respect and clear communication,” he said. “I believe patients should feel heard, understood and involved in decisions about their health. I strive to explain cardiac conditions and treatment options in a way that is easy to understand, while providing evidence-based, individualized care. Building trust and working as a team with patients, families and referring providers is very important to me.”
