MyMichigan Medical Centers in Saginaw, Standish and Tawas Scholarships

The following scholarships are available to help deserving students further their education for a career in health care. Scholarships are awarded based on eligibility criteria and the 500-word essay. Completing the online scholarship application and submitting your required documentation puts you in the running for one of 15 scholarships below.

Available Scholarships

Allyson Wilson Memorial Scholarship

  • Restricted to an individual enrolled or accepted for enrollment in an undergraduate clinical laboratory or medical laboratory academic program.
  • One non-renewable scholarship of $1,500.

Beverly Kremin Memorial Health Care Scholarship

  • Restricted to high school seniors with at least one parent who is a MyMichigan Medical Center Saginaw employee/associate at the time of application and who remains an employee/associate at the time of the initial grant.
  • Must have scored 1200 or higher on the SAT.
  • Awarded to individuals enrolled or accepted for enrollment in a full-time academic program, which leads to a degree or certificate in nursing or an allied health care field.
  • Up to two scholarships per year. Initial award of $3,000; four subsequent awards of $2,500 may be made on an annual basis if the student affirms continuing pursuit of a career in a health care related field and maintains a 3.0 GPA.

Children’s Free Ward Association Advancement Scholarship

  • Restricted to a MyMichigan Medical Center Saginaw, Standish, or Tawas employee/associate who is enrolled or has been accepted for enrollment in an academic program leading to a degree or certificate in nursing, health care administration or an allied health care field.
  • May also be used for specialty certification and/or training.
  • Associate must have worked 1,000 or more hours in the last 12 months.
  • One non-renewable $1,000 award.

Children’s Free Ward Association Health Care Scholarship

  • Restricted to a high school senior with at least one parent who is an employee/associate of MyMichigan Health Saginaw, Standish, or Tawas at the time of application and who remains an employee/associate at the time of the initial grant.
  • Must have scored 1090 or higher on the SAT.
  • Awarded to one individual enrolled or accepted for enrollment in a full-time academic program that leads to a degree in nursing or an allied health care field.
  • One non-renewable $1,000 award.

Doris M. Jacques Volunteer Alliance Health Care Advancement Scholarship

  • Restricted to current MyMichigan Medical Center Saginaw employees/associates in good standing working a minimum of 30 hours per week or child of MyMichigan Medical Center Saginaw employee/associate in good standing working a minimum of 30 hours per week.
  • Up to three non-renewable scholarships of $1,000 each.

James T. Keyes, M.D. Memorial Health Care Scholarship

  • Restricted to a MyMichigan Medical Center Saginaw employee/associate or child of a MyMichigan Medical Center Saginaw employee/associate who is enrolled or has been accepted for enrollment in an academic program leading to a degree or certificate in nursing or an allied health care field.
  • One non-renewable $1,000 award.

Medical Staff Nursing Scholarship

  • Restricted to those who are enrolled or accepted for enrollment in an academic program that leads to an Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. Graduate or Undergraduate only.
  • Restricted to current MyMichigan Medical Center Saginaw employees/associates in good standing working a minimum of 30 hours per week.
  • Up to two scholarships of at least $500.

MyMichigan Medical Center Standish Employee Dependent Scholarship

  • Restricted to a child of a MyMichigan Medical Center Standish employee/associate who is enrolled or has been accepted for enrollment in an academic program leading to a degree or certificate in nursing or an allied health care field.
  • One non-renewable $500 award.

MyMichigan Medical Center Standish Employee Educational Scholarship

  • Restricted to a MyMichigan Medical Center Standish employee/associate who is continuing education in the health care field. Training, accreditation, advanced degrees and programs apply.
  • One non-renewable $500 award.

MyMichigan Medical Center Tawas Foundation Community Scholarship Award

  • Restricted to high school seniors pursuing any field or college-enrolled student pursuing continuing education in a one- to four-year program in a health care related field.
  • One non-renewable $500 award.

MyMichigan Medical Center Tawas Foundation Dependent Scholarship Award

  • Restricted to a child of a MyMichigan Medical Center Tawas employee/associate who is a high school senior pursuing continuing education in a field of their choice through college, trade school, or certification program.
  • One non-renewable $250 award.

MyMichigan Medical Center Tawas Foundation President’s Scholarship Award

  • Restricted to MyMichigan Medical Center Tawas employee/associate working full time with a minimum three years of employment history.
  • One non-renewable $1000 award.

MyMichigan Medical Center Tawas Foundation Volunteer Associate Scholarship Award

  • Restricted to MyMichigan Medical Center Tawas employee/associate pursuing training, accreditation, or advanced degrees.
  • One non-renewable $1000 award.

MyMichigan Medical Center Tawas Foundation Volunteer Community Scholarship Award

  • Restricted to students in the Tawas community who are pursuing a college degree in any field.
  • One non-renewable $1000 award.

Rick Ohle Professional Development Scholarship

  • Restricted to MyMichigan Health employees/associates pursuing additional work-specific training, accreditation, certification or other professional development which would not be reimbursable by the health system.
  • Up to two scholarships of up to $500 each.

Application Process

Electronic applications for the upcoming school year will be accepted beginning January 1st of each year with the deadline of April 1st. Applications and support documentation will only be accepted electronically. To apply, complete the following steps:

  1. Complete the online MyMichigan Medical Center Saginaw, Standish, Tawas Scholarship Application.
  2. You will receive an email confirmation that application has been received.
  3. Submit letter of acceptance or proof of enrollment, current transcript including GPA (unofficial is accepted), SAT score (if high school student) to scholarshipsSST@mymichigan.org.

Selection Process

Selection of all candidates is based on the information contained in the application. The scholarship committee may choose to interview candidates for additional insight into their future. All award recipients will be notified via mail.
