What do I think is best about this program: I love that it's an unopposed program — that structure gives me abundant hands-on experience across a wide range of procedures and clinical settings. I also value the program's small size, which creates a close-knit learning environment and allows for focused, personalized education and mentorship. Hometown: Novi, Michigan

Medical School: St. Martinus University Faculty of Medicine in Curacao.

What do I think is best about this program: It's a small rural program often serving as the first and sometimes only point of care, allowing me to develop broad, full-spectrum skills. I feel supported here to achieve my goals, and everyone works with you. I get closer mentorship, more hands-on experience, and a stronger sense of team and community among residents and faculty. In rural communities, access to specialized care is limited, so we play an important role in prevention of chronic disease management and patient education. This makes lifestyle medicine -- focusing on nutrition, physical activity, sleep, stress management, and substance abuse -- a necessity. Everyone works together as one strong team to provide care for the community.

Hobbies: Clay art, reading history books, dancing and singing.
