Director of the Family Medicine Residency Program

Scott Ross, M.D., earned his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine and completed his residency training at The Toledo Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program. He began his career with MyMichigan Medical Group in 2009 as a Family Medicine provider and joined the Midland Family Medicine Residency Program as a faculty member in 2013. In August 2025, Dr. Ross stepped into his current role as Program Director, where he leads with dedication and vision.

Dr. Ross’s clinical interests span procedural medicine, sports medicine, vasectomy, musculoskeletal care, and the integration of personal finance into medical practice. He brings a hands-on, practical approach to patient care and is passionate about equipping residents with the skills and confidence they need to thrive.

As a mentor and educator, Dr. Ross finds deep fulfillment in teaching and advising. He especially values the opportunity to welcome new residents and their families, helping them navigate the transition into residency and laying the foundation for successful careers in medicine.

Beyond the clinic, Dr. Ross is a devoted family man and enthusiastic outdoorsman. He enjoys hiking, fishing, boating, traveling, and spending quality time with his loved ones. A lifelong learner, he’s also an avid reader and a proud Michigan State University Spartans fan.

Medical Director of the Family Practice Center

Sasha Savage, M.D., earned his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine and completed his residency training in Midland, Michigan. Shortly thereafter, he joined the faculty and now serves as the Medical Director of the Family Practice Center.

Dr. Savage is deeply passionate about the dynamic learning environment fostered within the residency program. He finds continued inspiration in the role the office environment plays in furthering residents’ growth. He takes great pride in mentoring them as they advance in their clinical training.

His clinical interests span complex chronic disease management and inpatient care, while he also remains actively engaged in outpatient practice—providing comprehensive, full-spectrum family medicine to patients of all ages.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Savage is a devoted husband and father who cherishes time with his family. He enjoys staying active through sports, and has a keen interest in ancient history and current events, which fuel his curiosity and broaden his perspective both in and out of the clinic.

Faculty Physician

Meaghan Beasley, M.D., earned her medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine and completed her residency in Family Medicine at MyMichigan Medical Center Midland. She now serves as a dedicated faculty member, where she finds deep fulfillment in mentoring residents and watching them flourish both professionally and personally throughout their training.

Dr. Beasley’s clinical passions include women’s health and obstetrics, and she’s especially known for her dynamic teaching style—highlighted by her popular board review sessions, affectionately dubbed “Beat the Boards with Beasley.”

Outside of medicine, Dr. Beasley leads a vibrant and well-rounded life. She enjoys running, traveling, and spending quality time with her children. A lover of cozy creativity, she finds joy in knitting and crocheting, and never misses a chance to cuddle up with her cats. She’s also a spirited sports fan, proudly cheering on the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions, and Michigan State University basketball.

Faculty Physician

Eric Becker, M.D., earned his medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School and completed his residency training in Family Medicine in Midland, Michigan. He went on to join the faculty, where he remains deeply involved in both clinical practice and medical education.

Dr. Becker is passionate about mentoring residents and medical students, and finds great meaning in guiding them through the complexities of patient care and professional development. He provides comprehensive care to patients across all ages and life stages, and is especially interested in the evolving dynamics of health systems and the role of medical ethics in shaping compassionate, patient-centered care.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Becker is a devoted fan of Detroit’s sports teams and University of Michigan athletics, and enjoys gaming—especially Rocket League—alongside reading, movie nights, and binge-worthy Netflix series. He also shares his home with his beloved cat, Bella, who keeps life delightfully unpredictable.

Faculty Physician

Gail Colby, M.D., graduated from Wayne State University School of Medicine. She completed her residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Family & Community Medicine Residency Program in Lubbock, TX. Subsequently, she practiced full-spectrum family medicine, including obstetrics, in rural East Texas before joining the Midland Family Medicine Residency Program.

As a faculty member, Dr. Colby finds deep fulfillment in mentoring residents. She enjoys watching them grow from inexperienced interns into confident, capable physicians ready for independent practice.

Her clinical interests include procedures, women’s health, and obstetrics. She is also actively involved in shaping the program’s emerging lifestyle medicine curriculum and enjoys teaching point-of-care ultrasound to enhance diagnostic skills at the bedside.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Colby cherishes time with her family and loves spending summers at their lake house, enjoying life on and in the water. She also enjoys traveling, reading, and crocheting.

Faculty Physician

Everett Kalcec, D.O., earned his medical degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and then completed his Family Medicine Residency at Henry Ford Allegiance (now Henry Ford Jackson) in Jackson Michigan. Prior to medical school, he earned a Bachelor of Music Education from Eastern Michigan University, and a Master of Music with a Focus on Music Education Research from Kent State University. He also taught in the public schools for 12 years prior to medical school.

After completing residency, Dr. Kalcec worked as a family medicine physician and hospitalist at the Mayo Clinic, in Minnesota. Following this, Dr. Kalcec, was core faculty and associate program director with the McLaren Bay Region Family Medicine Residency Program.

In addition to comprehensive family practice, he is experienced with Diabetes Medicine, Obesity Medicine, and Osteopathic Medicine including Osteopathic Manipulation. He enjoys caring for patients in every stage of life and works to make each clinic visit collaborative and motivational.

Having spent more than 30 years as a teacher, Dr. Kalcec is passionate about teaching residents and students, and derives great joy in seeing his students achieve success.

Dr. Kalcec enjoys reading, Music, camping, traveling, gardening/landscaping.

Debra Miller, Ph.D., L.M.S.W.-C.

Faculty Behaviorist

Debra Miller, Ph.D., L.M.S.W.-C., earned both her master’s degree in social work and her PhD in Family Therapy from Michigan State University. She is a dedicated educator and clinician whose career centers on empowering allied health professionals through evidence-based approaches to treatment.

As a faculty member, she is deeply committed to advancing behavioral health integration and enjoys working alongside a dedicated team to support resident education, training, and research. Her teaching focuses on family therapy, brief behavioral interventions, and systemic approaches to behavioral health care—always with the goal of improving how interventions are practiced in real-world settings.

Outside of her professional life, Dr. Miller finds joy in running, hiking, and planning adventures with friends and family. A passionate football fan and avid reader, she embraces both movement and reflection in equal measure.

Alexander Natole, M.D.

Faculty Physician

Alex Natole, M.D., earned his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine and completed his residency in Family Medicine at MyMichigan Midland. He joined the faculty in 2025, bringing with him a passion for multiple aspects of family medicine.

As a faculty member, Dr. Natole values the diversity of clinical experiences he gets to both practice and teach. His work spans inpatient care, outpatient services, and clinic procedures. He has a particular interest in preventive care, lifestyle medicine, and end-of-life care, and he finds great fulfillment in mentoring residents through hands-on clinical procedures.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Natole is an avid outdoorsman. Whether he's walking, hiking, biking, off-roading, or swimming, he finds joy and balance in nature.

Faculty Physician

Trevor Sexton, M.D., is a proud graduate of Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and completed his residency at the MyMichigan Midland Family Medicine Residency Program. In 2025, he joined the faculty, where he brings both clinical expertise and a deep commitment to mentorship.

Dr. Sexton finds great fulfillment in guiding future physicians, watching their confidence grow as they refine their skills and embrace the art of medicine. His clinical and teaching interests center around geriatric care—a field he approaches with both passion and reverence. He believes that our elders hold invaluable wisdom, and caring for them is not only a privilege but a meaningful way to give back.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Sexton enjoys cultivating his garden alongside his wife, spending time with their playful dog, and exploring the outdoors through fishing, kayaking, and other nature-filled adventures.

Faculty Physician

Kyle Williams, M.D., earned his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Health Sciences, following his undergraduate studies at Central Michigan University. He completed his residency training at the Midland Family Medicine Residency Program, where his passion for teaching and mentorship led him to join the core faculty in 2018.

As a faculty member, Dr. Williams finds deep fulfillment in guiding residents as they grow in skill, confidence, and develop their own distinctive approach to patient care. His clinical interests include hospital medicine and advancing the integration of Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) into residency training—equipping future physicians with essential diagnostic tools and hands-on expertise.

Outside the hospital, Dr. Williams enjoys quality time with his children and tackling home improvement projects—though he admits some of them might be better left to the professionals. His blend of dedication to medicine and down-to-earth humor makes him a valued mentor and colleague.
